KPS Launches New Mental Health Resource for Parents
Kearney Public Schools is proud to announce a new initiative to support families through a powerful partnership with the Cook Center for Human Connection. Starting this month, all KPS families will have free access to confidential one-on-one parent coaching through ParentGuidance.org, a trusted mental wellness platform designed specifically for parents and guardians.
This new resource offers weekly online sessions with licensed coaches who are trained to help families manage everyday parenting challenges, such as anxiety, screen time, discipline, and emotional connection.
“We know that parenting comes with a lot of joy, but also real challenges,” said Jason Mundorf, KPS Superintendent. “Through this partnership, we are offering families convenient, personalized support from professionals who can walk alongside them in whatever they’re facing. It’s about empowering parents and strengthening families.”
Whether a parent is just starting their parenting journey or raising teens, the coaching is tailored to meet families where they are. Sessions are scheduled at the parents’ convenience and are always confidential.
“We are proud to collaborate with Kearney Public Schools, which is showing that they truly care about the role of parents in their children's emotional well-being,” said Anne Brown, president and CEO of Cook Center for Human Connection. “By providing education, resources, and direct support to families, we look forward to helping the people who love and care for their children most: the parents.”
In addition to one-on-one coaching, ParentGuidance.org also provides:
- On-demand video courses led by licensed therapists on topics like anxiety, grief, self-worth, depression, and more
- Live webinars with mental health professionals
- Ask a Therapist, a Q&A platform with real, therapist-provided answers to common parenting questions
All KPS families are encouraged to explore these tools and register for coaching at ParentGuidance.org. Registration is simple, support is confidential, and help is available when parents need it most.
